The administration has lost its 'battery' in four years, as it ends subsidies on electric vehicles.

The 5-year EV policy, implemented in September 2022 with the aim of making Chandigarh a 'Model EV City', has lost its steam within just four years. The administration has brought about a fourth amendment to the policy, effectively ending all cash subsidies on electric vehicles with immediate effect. Following the instructions of Chief Secretary H. Rajesh Prasad, the Department of Science and Technology and Renewable Energy issued an official note regarding this decision.
