A cancer unit will be built in Kota at a cost of ₹149 crore. Speaker Om Birla has given instructions for CT-MRI scans and development works worth ₹25 crore have also been approved.

A major facility is being developed at Kota Medical College for cancer patients. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla held a meeting with officials from the Department of Medical and Health, as well as the medical college, at the camp office. The meeting informed that financial approval has been granted for ₹149 crore to establish a cancer unit. Currently, patients from the Kota division and surrounding areas have to travel to Jaipur or Delhi for cancer treatment. The new unit is set to be operational soon.
