The High Court has expressed its displeasure over the prolonged delay in making a decision on the Advocates Protection Bill-2023, which concerns the safety of lawyers in the state. A division bench comprising Justices Mahendra Kumar Goyal and Bhuvan Goyal stated that the government should make a final decision on the bill within four weeks. Alternatively, the Chief Secretary should appear before the High Court and provide an explanation. The division bench issued this direction while hearing a petition filed by Prahlad Sharma, the former president of the High Court Bar Association, Jaipur.
