Highway blocked in protest against Tiger Reserve: Officials say no connection to those involved in vandalism; warning for a march to Jaipur on September 23rd.

Tension escalated in Sarmathura on Saturday, the 32nd day of the ongoing protest against the Dholpur-Karauli Tiger Reserve. During the demonstration, some people blocked the Dholpur-Karauli highway. Subsequently, they vandalized markets in the town and also damaged police vehicles. Upon receiving information, the police arrived at the scene and detained several individuals. Superintendent of Police Vikas Sangwan also reached Sarmathura as soon as he learned about the incident.
