Today is the last day for nominations for Rajasthan's local body chiefs: so far, 25 nominations have been filed in municipalities and councils. BJP and Congress councilors are among those contesting from the ward boundaries.

In Rajasthan, the process of electing heads of city governments has begun. Nominations for the positions of Mayor in Municipal Corporations and Chairman-Chairman in Municipal Councils will be held until 3 pm on Wednesday. So far, 24 candidates have filed nominations for the Municipal Councils and one for the Municipal Council. In the election of body chiefs including the Mayor, political equations among the councilors will now be crucial, especially in bodies where a single party has a clear majority.
