In Rajasthan, 322 former sarpanches, deputy sarpanches, panches, and pradhans, including the son and daughter of a former minister, will not be able to contest elections this time. The Panchayati Raj Department had prepared a list and sent it to the State Election Commission. The department had recommended to the commission to ban public representatives from contesting elections for 5 years. The list also includes the son and daughter of Zahida Khan, who was a minister in the previous Gehlot government. They were accused of irregularities.
