Janmashtami celebrations begin at Govindadevji temple at 4 AM. At night, there will be a 31-gun salute and fireworks; the birth anniversary is being celebrated at Radha Damodar Temple.

Preparations have begun in Jaipur's major temples from late at night for Shri Krishna Janmashtami. Devotees started gathering at the Govinddevji temple early in the evening for darshan (holy viewing). Darshan began with Mangal Aarti at 4 am. The Shri Krishna Janmotsav will be celebrated at the temple at 12 midnight, preceded by the Panchamrit Abhishek of Thakur Shreeji. This will be followed by a Veda recitation by six Vedpathis (learned scholars). After this, the Panchamrit Abhishek will take place.
