The BJP has nominated Jaswant Kanwar, a 37-year-old elected from Ward 9, as its candidate for the mayoral position. After securing a majority by winning 45 out of 70 wards, the BJP has chosen Jaswant Kanwar's name among several prominent candidates. Hailing from the Rajput community, Jaswant Kanwar defeated an independent candidate in Ward 9 by 2165 votes. He will now be present at the Municipal Corporation today along with senior leaders.
