The Rajasthan High Court has commuted the death sentence of the convict in the highly publicized 2021 Kota double murder case to life imprisonment. The court stated that the convict will remain in jail until the age of 75 without parole. This order was delivered by a bench of Justices Mahendra Kumar Goyal and Pravir Bhatnagar, who rejected the government's death reference and partially accepted the appeal of the accused, Pintu Dagar. The convict had murdered his wife and 6-month-old son.
