After the murder, both had wrapped the body in a blanket, taken it away in an auto-rickshaw, and dumped it in a dry well. During interrogation, the accused confessed that she used to beat them with a belt. The husband also suspected her of having an illicit affair, which led him to kill her. Upon being questioned by relatives, he was sent to jail.
