A prisoner serving a life sentence in Sri Ganganagar has escaped: he was found missing during a routine check-in at the open prison camp, and a search has been launched.

A prisoner serving a life sentence has escaped from the open-air detention camp located in the agricultural research center in Sri Ganganagar. The incident occurred on the morning of September 4th. The prisoner, Vedprakash alias Vedia, was not found during attendance. Despite searches within the camp premises, no trace of him could be found. Vedprakash alias Vedia is a resident of Surjit Singh Colony in Sri Ganganagar. He had been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Additional Sessions Judge, Srikaranpur on November 20, 2010.
