To make the city's traffic system smarter, the JDA is planning to install Adaptive Traffic Control System (ATCS). As part of this initiative, intelligent cameras will be installed at around 500 signals, intersections, and crossroads. These cameras will assess traffic load using artificial intelligence and automatically adjust the timing of red-green signals accordingly. Currently, most of the city's signals operate on fixed timings. The JDA plans to implement 332 existing signals and over 150 non-existing ones.
