In Jaipur, India, a 65-year-old woman was defrauded by a miscreant while she had gone to the temple for worship. The accused identified himself as a resident of Canada and tricked the woman into donating ₹11,000 to the temple. Subsequently, he accompanied her to her home and tied ₹11,000 in his pocket, asking her to wear it as a mangalsutra (auspicious thread). When she later went to check the money, the accused fled on a motorcycle with the cloth.
