Rebels have increased the tension for BJP and Congress in the Jaipur Municipal Corporation elections: Senior leaders are engaged in celebrations as they will contest against their own party candidates in more than 20 wards.

Following the ticket distribution in the Jaipur Municipal Corporation elections-2026, both the Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress are facing a challenge from rebel candidates. Disgruntled contenders have entered the fray as independents after being denied tickets in several wards, disrupting the calculations of their own party's authorized candidates. Senior leaders and candidates from both parties are working to persuade the rebels before the last date for withdrawal of names, so that votes can be divided.
