Demand for inclusion of goldsmiths in the OBC category from the MBC: Mental stress increased suicides

In Bhilwara, the Swarnkar Samaj Reservation Struggle Committee submitted a memorandum to the Rajasthan State Backward Classes Commission, Jaipur. The memorandum was submitted to remove the Swarnkar Samaj from the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category and include it in the Most Backward Classes (MBC) category, as well as to implement special protective and legal provisions for the community. The memorandum stated that there has been a decline in the sale of jewelry, and that by 2026, the sales will decrease compared to 1993.
