Yesterday at the Jaisalmer SDM office was a lottery for Sarpanch and Ward Panch reservations. There are a total of 10 Panchayat Samitis in the district; there was excitement in the villages, and enthusiasm among the candidates.

As per the instructions of the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Rajasthan (Jaipur), a lottery will be organized tomorrow, i.e., September 24th, at the sub-divisional officer offices in the respective panchayat samiti areas to determine the reservation for wards (single constituencies) and sarpanchs of gram panchayats in Jaisalmer district.
