Work begins on the metro tunnel under Jaipur's Parakot: TBM launched at Ghalta Gate; target to reach the big square by June-July 2027.

A major step was taken on Saturday regarding the expansion of the Jaipur Metro under the Jaipur Fort. Chief Secretary V. Srinivas launched the tunnel boring machine (TBM) at Galta Gate, marking the commencement of underground tunnel construction for Metro Phase-1C. Under this project, metro connectivity will be developed from Badi Chaupad to Transport Nagar via Galta Gate. This project, costing approximately ₹1,511 crore, will include a 3.80-kilometer-long corridor.
