The Punjab and Haryana High Court has declined to quash a plaint filed against a tattoo studio owner for allegedly displaying a protected species, the Rhesus Macaque, in violation of wildlife laws. The complaint was made by the Chandigarh Forest and Wildlife Department after receiving information from PETA India regarding the incident in July 2020.
The HC bench of justice Suvir Shegal and justice Rajesh Gaur acted on a clutch of petitions challenging the final list, which treated “migrant SC candidates” as general candidates, thereby denying them the reservation.
